The TCM dealership underwent a 100-point on-site audit, created to ensure consistently high standards and compliance across all areas of the business operations, including health and safety, environmental, fire regulations, and risk management.
FLTA Quality Manager Lee Medway, who carried out the audit explains why the process is so important: “The audit is designed to give customers real peace of mind. As an audit compliant company, customers know that CAM Forklift Trucks has measured up to an industry-led health check, operates impressive health and safety policies and working practices.”
CAM Fork Lift Trucks Ltd has also been re-accredited from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace. Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third-party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.
The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business and will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts.
Accepting the certifications Paul Freeman, Director said: “We welcomed the FLTA audit as an opportunity to review our operations, we were really pleased to be leading the way by being among the first to complete the audit. It presented us with a welcome opportunity to stand back, take stock and work even more effectively on behalf of our customers. Achieving SafeContractor compliance helps eliminate customers’ risk of any weak link in the supply chain of traceability and accountability. As our business continues to grow so do the requirements of our customers, regardless of size, one truck or fifty trucks, racking installations or racking inspection and repair the need for specific site compliance is ever more demanding.”
“We believe going through the process of gaining the Certificate of Compliance from the FLTA and becoming an accredited SafeContractor clearly demonstrates that CAM Fork Lift Trucks are committed to the safety of our employees and customers alike, and that Health & Safety is at the forefront of our business model.”
