Hand Pallet Truck Buyers Guide

Not all Hand Pallet Trucks work with all types of pallets!

GKN Chep HPT
Euro Pallet

A Euro Hand Pallet Truck works perfectly with a Euro Pallet lengthwise [A] but can also be utilised sideways [B]. Although, you can NOT push the Pallet Truck all the way through as it will stick out the other side and when the wheels are pumped up it will rip the bottom board off.

The Euro Hand Pallet Truck will also work in a GKN Pallet lengthwise [C] and also be used sideways if needed [D]. Although, you can NOT push the Pallet Truck all the way through as it will stick out the other side and when the wheels are pumped up it will rip the bottom board off.

GKN Chep Pallet

The GKN Hand Pallet Truck will NOT go into a Euro pallet lengthways [E] but it can be used sideways [F]. Although, you can NOT push the Pallet Truck all the way through as it will stick out the other side and when the wheels are pumped up it will rip the bottom board off.

With a GKN pallet, the HPT is suitable for access from all sides.

Wheel Options

Single
  • Suitable for flat surfaces.
  • Can enter the open side of pallets.
Tandem (Double)
  • Improves travel on uneven ground and has obstacle clearance.
  • Can enter pallets lengthways and sideways.

Wheel Types

Nylon Steering Wheel
  • Ideal for hard surfaces.
  • Easy-to-clean rims.
  • Ideal for indoor applications requiring high levels of hygiene (eg. the food industry).
  • Low rolling resistance.
  • More noise when travelling than Rubber or Polyurethane wheels.
Rubber Steering Wheel
  • Ideal for irregular floors.
  • Suitable for soft surfaces or areas liable to moisture (due to increased grip).
  • Absorbs shocks.
  • Not suitable for areas requiring high levels of hygiene as the wheels can leave trails on the floor.
  • Not to be used on floors with metal debris.
Polyurethane Steering Wheel
  • Suitable for all applications.
  • Recommended for heavy loads.
  • Crosses obstacles with ease.
  • Nearly silent during travel.
  • Low rolling resistance.
